The turtle and the hare

I'm interested in understanding the speed of life, well, more like the pace. In movies, I prefer the typical pacing of an indie flick. Which is to say, not very fast. My first meaningful college art class taught me that when a movie's pacing is slow enough to give you time to reflect, that's a good thing. In contrast, the first movie where I was aware of feeling beaten up by the pacing was Kenneth Branagh's "Frankenstein". It never stopped. Just endless conflict and chatter. Unfortunately, this is sometimes what my life feels like with a toddler. My introverted parts feel bruised and angry at being ignored. My extroverted parts feel overused and exhausted. My reactions seem lame given that my kid is considered a pretty low-key guy, by most other parents' accounts. I've come to believe that perhaps others survive parenting with less pain than I, by virtue of having had a bit less chaos in their lives overall, than I have. (That being said, I know that...
